For many of you that know me running is my life. I live it, breathe it, and I dream it. I started running in 2010 and I got completely addicted to running. The feeling of accomplishing something I never thought would be possible for myself was an amazing feeling. From that moment I really knew what a 'runner's high' was. I entered the New York City Marathon lottery in 2011 and I waited for that moment that my name was picked. This year was the year! This race is a dream of mine. I watch it every year on the TV, and now I get to be part of this amazing experience that I have been dreaming of. I have volunteered with Girls on the Run since 2012 and the experience has been so rewarding. I am thrilled that as a charity runner, a 'SoleMate,' I will be able to support their programming. Girls on the Run is a transformational, curriculum-based learning program for 8 to 13 year-old girls. It teaches life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running activities.

About SoleMate Miller 26.2 NYC Bound

For my site that I coach at, some of the girls have never been able to accomplish a goal or even think a 5k was possible for themselves. My school is grant funded every season due to financial reasons. This fall, I would love for another school to have our grant by raising $1,800.00 ($150 per girl) to cover our school this season. Any extra money beyond $1800 will go towards a shoe grant for these girls. I want more girls around central Ohio to experience the life changing effects that Girls on the Run provides. I cross that finish line each year with one of my girls, and I cry every time because they were able to say "I did it. I finished it".
